Great point, Chris. Esp. considering that some of the oldest traditions of Christianity have a very different idea of what worship is and isn’t–even what hymns are and are not.

I’d be the first to agree that singing is only a part of worship. However, you better check your Bible again, buddy!
Singing with love and gratitude to God (Eph. 5:19 for starters) IS commanded.
Also, the number of times something is mentioned doesn’t necessarily quantify it’s importance. For instance: the specific phrase “do not kill” is only mentioned thrice. Does that mean it’s not important to God? Go to Biblegateway.com, put “sing” in the search engine, look at the context and usage … and then tell us that singing is not important.

Otherwise, funny site!

BTW - you are spot-on regarding communion. I believe it is because receiving COSTS too much: if you’re going to do it right, you must be squared up with your brother and have a heart of contrition and live in repentance (not merely “feeling” sorrowful).
I believe everyone needs a broader theology of worship. We’re too lazy - we’d rather just show up for church. Could it be that “worship service” seems vain and vapid because we don’t truly worship in spirit and in truth?
So … everybody: talk to your pastor - ask him: “Hey, Let’s do communion more often!” and volunteer to help serve. If you’re in a small group or Bible study (and you can do this with a clear conscience - some churches would not approve … ahem …), practice communion there. We do communion in my family: just me, my bride and the kids.
