i thought i would briefly reflect on a conversation with eric schwartz today about an article in relevant magazine. apparantly Worship Leader Magazine is giving out awards this year to worship leaders. is there any more hypocrisy than to award someone whose very job should be to deflect attention from themselves and direct it to god? the christian culture drives me insane.

well… i have officially seen the lineup for this year’s on the bricks and the big rock. just so you know, two of the biggest radio stations in atlanta put on these “free” concerts on friday night all summer. last year, it was completely free for everyone. this year it is $3 for the on the bricks and free for the big rock. the stations bring in acts like john mayer, vanessa carlton, hoobastank, etc, pretty much anyone who would be played on a top 40 station and a modern rock station, respectively. i had the chance to catch some shows last summer, and it was fun, though a little crowded. last year both stages were across the street from eachother but apparently because of some lawsuits, the Big Rock stage is moved to Stone Mountain, always a lovely venue… a mountain. the acts lined up this year include some of my links on the side, which i am pumped about, including Jason Mraz and Marc Broussard. also on stage will be nickel creek, lifehouse, hoobastank, our lady peace, tonic, will hoge, and even third day (not quite sure how they slipped in there, but praise god). i am pumped. i am sure there will be a blog or two about my experiences at some of these concerts. good times… great oldies.

those first four lines in the previous post are turning on to be (in my mind) one of my best songs. i really feel honest to the lyrics and to the music. it definitely has a lot of james taylor overtones to it, and i couldn’t be happier about that. i will let you know what happens.
