At the local subway down the street from me, I spotted this in the list of cheese options. I mean, who doesn’t want some Paper Jack Cheese?

Its always fun when certain symbols mean one thing in one culture and another in a different one. Like this example:

Apparently at a recent Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting in Indonesia where the government was supporting the attendance of Israel at the event, they busted out the Swastika’s as a welcome. For Hindus in Bali, its an important religious symbol, and they were completely unaware of the Nazi implications of it. Nice. Welcome to Indonesia!

So, I first saw Julian Beever’s artwork about a year or two ago and was blown away. I mean, its not the kind of artwork that requires the artists to tell the story about the emotions they were going through and experiencing at the time. There’s really no room for interpretation, which makes it more accessible to the public. What is amazing is the amount of creativity and ingenuity that was required to come up with these styles. Basically, he makes art on sidewalk, but does so that at certain angles it looks perfect and has a 3d effect, coming up out of the sidewalk. The first two artworks below show what it looks like form two different angles, and then I pulled some of my favorites. It’s really pretty awesome and you can see more here:

I guess being in marketing and advertising, its always fun to see some creative ads. This is a good one:

The Virginia-Highlands festival produces some crazy artwork. I am not exactly sure the clientel targeted for this item. I am sure there is a crazy enough prince fan out there to want this.
