Hey everyone (or maybe just Josh Doody)! I was long overdue to write a little note and now I have finally gotten the chance to do so. I have officially moved to Atlanta (Decatur to be more specific) and I am having a great time. I will list my pros and cons
PROS
1. I’m in the city where the “players play.” It is quite a crazy place, where my going out options include the yuppy-rich club crowd in Buckhead, the laid back but moderately wealthy Virginia Highlands, the alternative but still affluent Midtown, and then the free concerts every friday night downtown area… more my price-range.
2. Near the woman. About time.
3. Finally found a church that I think I can call my own… something really lacking in Gainesville. I start working at Peachtree Presbyterian next week.
4. Passion meetings in Atlanta. It’s pretty cool to have Loiue Giglio meeting with a huge crowd once a week lead by the David Crowder band for Passion On the Hill. Looking to hopefully get really fed for the weeks that they are meeting.
5. Get to eventually start seminary. That’ll be good, i think.
6. Free Friday Night Concerts as stated before. Free concerts all summer including John Mayer, Sister Hazel, Alanis Morrisette, G Love, Hoobastank, Cake and TONS more. Put on by the radio stations 99x and Star 94.
7. Pimp Ass House. You just have to visit.
CONS
1. I ain’t go no male bonding going on. I meet and know plenty of mandy’s girlfriends but I really don’t have any guys to hang out with. I ran into this problem a little last summer. Can’t wait for school to start.
2. Same as #2 above. Now I’ve gotta do a lot of the boyfriend things… like drive her places and pay for things.
3. Traffic. It’s really bad…
4. Everything’s expensive. Gone are the days of $4.50 pizzas and $1.00 bar drinks. Much different than Gainesville.
5. Lesbians. I swear… they are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!
I know this was a not a very open or in depth blog for being gone for so long, just give me a little time to get back into it. Peace.
